Curbside meal service for scholars will kick off July 17, 2020, at GSA. Scholars do not need to be present to pick up meals.

Parents/Guardians will receive 3 breakfast and 3 lunch meals on Tuesday and 4 breakfast and 4 lunch meals on Thursday.

Meals can be picked up Tuesday and Thursday from 11:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. for the week.

The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services has increased its benefits to current Food and Nutrition Services recipients through April 2020.

Families who need help finding meals for their children ages 18 and younger can text FOODNC to 877-877 to locate nearby free meal sites. The texting service is also available in Spanish by texting COMIDA to 877-877. After entering their address, families will receive a text with the location and serving times for nearby pick-up and drive-thru meal sites while schools are closed. Sites have been set up across the state with school and community partners.

DPS Foundation has partnered with DPS, Durham County, Food Insight Group, and local nonprofits and restaurants to continue providing family meals during COVID-19. Please visit here for more information.

Research Triangle Charter Academy is providing families breakfast and lunch, free of charge. Families may pick up meals from the school between 9 a.m. – 2 p.m., Monday through Friday, while supplies last. Please know, they will also provide food for weekend days at that time. McDonald’s located at 204 W. NC HWY 54 in #Durham is providing FREE kids lunches from 11 am – 2 pm (kids 12 & under with guardian) during the #COVID19 school closure. Choice of hamburger, cheeseburger or 4-piece nuggets with 1 side (yogurt, apples, or fries).
